my own card games!

here i'll post rules for my own custom-created card games you can play right now! all you'll need is a deck of standard playing cards (unless stated otherwise) and some friends to play against! i hope you enjoy playing them as much as i did making them; if you do try these out, please let me know what you think.

SCUFFLE

Scuffle is a hand-attack game about risk, control and aggression, where you battle to be the last one standing. I designed it to feel like playing a fighting game, where your hand serves as both your life total and your weapon. I wanted it to have a rock-paper-scissors dynamic with the added complexity you'd come to expect from a fighting game by giving you additional actions that can be taken by spending cards of the same rank as one another.

Players and Setup

This is a two player game, and requires one regular 52-card deck.
Each player is dealt 10 cards, with the player that didn't deal taking the first turn.

How to Win

Be the last player standing by knocking your opponent out. You can make an opponent lose the game (hehe) by removing all the cards in their hand or by making them draw the last card in the deck.

Turn Actions

During your turn, you must perform one of four actions: Attack, Scavenge, Rally or Ambush.

Attack

Attacking is your chance to knock cards out of your opponent's hand by attacking with a higher combined rank than them. When attacking, you play one, two or three cards from your hand face down (you can't play more cards than your opponent has left in their hand). After you've played your cards face-down, your opponent plays the same number of cards from their hand face up. Once they've finished playing their cards, you reveal your face-down cards to determine who won the attack. The winner of the attack is the player with the highest combined rank amongst their played cards. Face cards have no value and Ace cards are valued at 11; every other number is its own listed number.
